I just returned from my first real vacation in quite some time and boy was I way overdue. Rosie and I flew out to Boulder CO. and stayed with our daughter Shannon and her fiancée’ Aaron for a week. The trip was a road trip that was adventure packed and encompassed several State and Federal Parks, camping, a trike race and some 2100 miles logged on the rental van. My first real adventure out in the ocean with a Kayak. Dennis and I set out from Newcastle in the back channel and we paddled out to Odione Point outside the harbor. It was a great time and wonderful experience. I used a loaner tandem style kayak, an Old Town Otter (more…)

I completed my first official 5k this past weekend at the Lebanon Community Festival in Lebanon, Maine. The race was a benefit for a local family fighting cancer and was well attended. My guess is there some 30-40 people (more…)

I was offered an option of last minute ticket to a Wilco show at the Capitol Theater in Concord NH last night. I had heard some of Wilco’s songs and read rave things about the bands live shows, even seeing them referred to as “Americas Best Live Rock & Roll Act”. So I accepted the offer to hang with some great friends, make some memories and see what this Wilco hoopla was all about. (more…)

The past few months I have logged over 500 miles riding my bike on a stationary trainer, looking to stay fit and keep the winter pounds from packing on. One way of passing the time was watching documentaries by streaming them from Netflix (on a free trial). Slim the waistline and expand the mind…was my theory. I was also astounded by what I learned about food, health and how the body works. I invite you to partake in theses movies and make your own conclusions for you and your family. (more…)
